Let's talk  YOGI TEA....I have the true solution for liquid happiness on a cold snowy day...A bowl (yep..YOGI teas are so tasty I drink them by the bowl) of YOGI tea coursing through my veins.  totally caffeine free (not all flavors though.  I opt out of the caffeinated varieties.).  I order umpteen boxes at a time...Yep..I'm addicted to my YOGI..These teas are full of natural organic ingredients obtained throughout the world.  Let me share a few of my favorites. "RELAXED MIND"  I can never get enough spiritual growth..thanks to ingredient Helichrysum.. "COLD SEASON"..Jolt the system away from an impending cold by filling it with this 16 ingredient tea including Basil/Oregano and Parsley Leaf. all supportive functionally of digestion/ bladder/lung and sinus...It's good to periodically flush impurities from the body in order to assist my kidney and liver maintaining a happy median and inner refreshing feeling.. .  A great way to accomplish this cleansing is with Rhubarb Root in conjunction with Yellow Dock, ingredients in YOGI BERRY DETOX tea. .    Relax CALMING" infused with Chamomile, Lemongrass.  Lavender flowers assist in this Calming dance.   Love the "SOOTHING CARAMEL BEDTIME"  The aroma of ginger root/caramel/nutmeg unexplainably euphoric. naturally sends the body into sleepy mode...yaaawwwnnn!!!!  Digestively speaking.."LEMON GINGER" love drinking the lemon/orange peel as opposed to chewing it..lol...and ginger root...aroma like no other...I hear my digestive system screaming.."drink up!!!"

Squid Pasta & Persimmon

Persimmon & Squid Pasta
Rainy day ...light lunch meeting ...Squid ink pasta & Persimmon on the menu...Squid ink actually from the cuttlefish, a cousin of the squid, doesn't have much in nutritional value but does have theraputic value.. I really do like the look of this pasta....So mysterious but mild in taste....I balance the light pasta taste  with Persimmon slices.  This fruits savory sweet in taste lacks the concerned aspects of nutrients such as Fat, Cholesterol, and Sodium but is high in fiber Potassium and Vitamin C.  This pretty mass of orange persimmon fruit contains enough nutrients to protect us from free radicals. The sweetness of the Persimmons offsets the blandness of the pasta...It's an amazing combination.  On the heels of this dish is a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.  So well mix for the pasta.  The look and feel of this dish screams YES!...Dig in my friends

Baked Chicken Carrots & Potatoes

Baked Chicken Carrots & Potatoes
Friends over tonight…Not all in vegetarian mode…So being that, I must make that unselfish decision to accommodate others palate.  Chicken potatoes and carrots it will be…I’ll bake this dish in olive oil and H2o. . I’m not big on unnatural seasoning thus allowing the natural juices from the chicken and carrots to flavor the dish.  Picturesquing this dish with fresh carrots who are low in calories and rich in antioxidants .  Carrots contain Vitamin E:  great for immune function. Vitamin K: helps promote bone growth and Vitamin A:  did you know carrots contain the highest amount of Vitamin A than any other vegetable?!  Potatoes also accompany this dish…Potatoes are a great source of fiber, calcium and potassium which contribute to a great cardiovascular system.  A quick dish full of love...Dig in Ladies!

String Beans and Red peppers

Stringbeans & Red Peppers
Stringbeans and red peppers will be gracing the pallet as a light evening meal.  The stringbeans slightly boiled and then lightly sauteed in olive oil. Red peppers as well sauteed in olive oil add a zest of natural sweetness to this glistening dish.  Both vegetables afford our body loads of nutrients such as vitamins A & C beneficial to our immune system. Protein is packed mostly in the pods of the bean…I love the slight crunch of the pod…“Crunch”..let the proteins flow! Soluble fiber great for our blood chemistry. Minerals such as potassium, calcium and iron…all necessary for bone density, blood health and muscle maintenance.  Who thought these lean green beans packed such a nutritional punch?!  Proudly standing alongside these legumes are red peppers. Not to be out shined by their green bean partner red peppers bring an additional set of nutrients such as Omega 3 & Omega 6.  Important for keeping the heart beating right.  So do enjoy this double dose of nutritional excitement!!

Organic crackers/Salmon/eggwhites/parsley

BREAKFAST!!!!
YUM!!
Good morning!!  Let me share my marvelous breakfast I'm conjuring up in my kitchen. . After a busy week I'm going to relax this morning with a fantastic meal of eggwhites/salmon and organic crackers.   Egg-whites dressed in parsley, besides being visibly edible, come with the gift of calcium, phosphorous and potassium.   Parsley is a great kidney stimulant in eliminating poisonous waste thus maintaining healthy blood.  Nibbling raw as I type!!  Olive oil baked organic crackers with just the right amount of light taste and carbs....Despite the negative hype about carbs our aging selves do require an amount of such, non excessively though.  Salmon...oh Salmon. . .smoked so delicately..atop the crackers. . .sinfully delicisio. . ..Breakfast was so satisfying to my soul this morning..

Arugula

Arugula & Mozzarella
Arugula & Mozzarella
These dainty feminine leaves will do me well today for a quick eat. Looking at them in the salad bowl it amazes me such soft sweet looking dainty green pack such a powerful punch of nutrients. These light feathered greens encompass a mass amount of nutrients include Zinc, Copper, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium and Potassium.  Along with said mentioned nutrients tagging behind joyfully are Vitamins B6, A, C, and K.  Arugula are also a great source of Protein and Dietary Fiber.  I enjoy eating them raw as I feel if steamed many of the nutrients would decrease when wilted.  I dress them with part-skim mozzarella cheese.  Part-skim cheese joining the mix as it containing less fat and calories along with matching the light airy taste of Arugula.  I scooped the Arugula up and smile as I introduce them to my palate lightly as they look and feel sliding past the palate into my system.   The mozzarella being a welcomed  party to this snack.

KiwiFruit

KiwiFruit
Emerald KiwiFruit

This interesting looking fruit called Kiwi is such a mystery in taste considering Kiwis' furry look.  What a burst of excitement I feel when I bite down on its savory tart emerald green artfully picturesque inner pulp. To know with each bite the immense amount of nutrients I’m consuming such as vitamn C, potassium and vitamin E masks the wrinkle of the tartness.  This interestingly looking fruit is also low fat, saturated fat free, sodium and cholesterol free.  This fruit can be utilized in a variety of ways but I like to enjoy the taste alone so all of the wonderful nutrients can cultivate with no interruptions through my welcoming organs.  I can honestly not eat just one.  I'm on a KiwiFruit journey and the ride is tastefully great!
